School Based Traineeships

Get paid while you learn with Catholic Healthcare! With a school-based traineeship, you can earn credit towards your HSC, gain nationally recognised industry training, and get paid to work all at the same time.

Eligibility

Available to high school students in years 11 or 12 in NSW. Undertake 100 days of paid employment around your school hours and other commitments. Qualifications to consider as part of your HSC include:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) (CHC33015)

Make a difference to the lives of older community members School based traineeships are open to students in Years 11 and 12. In a Catholic Healthcare residential aged care home, you’ll help to provide day to day support for residents while gaining real-world industry experience. It’s a good idea to talk to your school first before registering your interest, to see if they'll support the traineeship.

Student Placements

Eligibility

Available to students who are currently studying a tertiary qualification to graduate as a Registered Nurse, Personal Care Worker, or Lifestyle Coordinator. Popular qualifications that you might be studying at university or a registered training organisation include:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Diploma of Nursing
  • Diploma of Community Services
  • Certificate IV In Leisure & Health
  • Certificate IV in Ageing Support
  • Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Others – just ask!

The number of hours required for your student placement will be determined by your education provider.
