Older Australians are embracing mind+move

At Catholic Healthcare, we believe in enhancing the overall wellbeing of our residents and clients through our mind+move program.

Benefits of Mental & Physical Exercises As You Age

Participating in this program can offer a wide range of benefits including:

  1. Lifelong learning: Courses such as Smart Technology are the perfect way to continue engaging your mind and improve cognitive abilities as you grow older.
  2. Enhanced social connections: The mind+move program is a great place to make new friends and stay connected with a community of like-minded individuals that share your interests.
  3. Physical Well-being: Keeping your body moving will help to maintain physical health, improving strength and balance in the process.

From learning how to download and play Candy Crush Saga to becoming more flexible with yoga classes – older Australians now have access to Catholic Healthcare’s innovative mind+move program. The program includes an impressive list of online and face-to-face offerings and are accessible to all in the community.

The classes are designed to inspire the mind through courses such as Smart Technology, that empowers ‘grand-students’ to get tech savvy and using their smart tablet or laptop, learn how to go online shopping, download and play Candy Crush Saga, make and receive video calls, join social media and more.

The good news for you is six hubs are now operating throughout NSW, including new hubs at Warnervale, Wagga Wagga and Willoughby, complementing existing hubs at McQuoin Park in Wahroonga, Holy Spirit Casula and Dubbo.

Seeing the positive impacts to the lives of our mind+move clients is truly rewarding! Client, Ngaire enjoys the social benefits, having formed new friendships with fellow mind+move participants. “The activity that I enjoy most is the art class, but the one that has benefited me most has been the Pilates class, which has moved me from being on a walker to walking!”

You can learn more about Catholic Healthcare’s mind+move offerings at the mind+move hub including locations, class types and times.
