At Catholic Healthcare, we believe research is the engine that drives innovation, better outcomes and lasting impact.

Research enables us to gain deeper insight into what matters most to older people and their supporters. It translates evidence into practical solutions, informing programs, policy and contemporary evidence-based practice across the sector.

Through research, we design more responsive services, turn evidence into meaningful improvements for the people we serve, and work with policymakers and the wider community, helping to create a world where every older person can truly thrive.

Our Priorities

Loneliness

We believe belonging, connection and participation are the antidote to loneliness. Our research explores loneliness drivers, and how relationships and support networks influence wellbeing in older age, informing practical programs, environments and policies that strengthen social connection.

Relationship-Centred Care

We believe that relationships between older people, families, carers and care teams contribute to wellbeing, quality of life and positive care experiences. Our research analyses practices that strengthen trust, communication, belonging and meaningful engagement to ensure everyone is seen, heard and known. This research helps inform sector best practice, policy and funding models that support older people to thrive.
