National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program

The National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program (NACMQI Program) collects quality indicator data from residential aged care services each quarter. This data provides an evidence base that can be used to improve the quality of services provided to resident. This data is submitted to the Department of Health and Aged Care.

The indicators for collection are increasing from 5 to 11 from the second quarter (April –June 2023) as outlined below:

The data collected is anonymous and residents can opt out of data collection and surveys if they don’t want their data included.

Beginning in May 2023, residents will be surveyed each quarter about quality of life and consumer experience. Each home will be sent an electronic link to complete the surveys online. Authorised representatives can complete the survey on the resident’s behalf if the resident is unable to complete the survey.
