Celebrating Foundation Day at Catholic Healthcare

Today we acknowledge our 27th birthday on Catholic Healthcare’s Foundation Day.

This year, we are celebrating 27 years of providing health and aged care services to residents, clients and patients.

Our theme for this year’s Foundation Day is ‘Reaching Out’. This is a special moment to acknowledge the vision of our founders whose legacy of compassionate care we continue, each and every day. This day of celebration recognises the hard work, dedication and generosity of spirit shown by all staff working across Catholic Healthcare.

We give thanks for the dedication of all at Catholic Healthcare who, in whatever capacity they hold, continue to work to ensure the wellbeing of our community. Today we take time to reflect on the important work they are all doing.

Some of Catholic Healthcare’s highlights and achievements over the past year include:

  • Welcoming over 100 residents to our newly completed McQuoin Park Retirement Living Village
  • Approval of our Lewisham aged care development
  • Opening a new Wellness Centre for local seniors in Wagga Wagga and McQuoin Park
  • Running two successful rounds of the Buried in Treasures program – supporting vulnerable people across NSW with new online courses
  • Re-igniting our MyWish excursions for residents to art galleries, museums, restaurants and even a horse drawn carriage ride through the Forbes countryside
  • Launching our Care Runs Deep campaign, inspired by our dedicated staff, who have a deep commitment to care
  • Developing a new volunteer video showcasing the wonderful impact our volunteers have in the community
  • Opening our new Home, Holy Spirit in Casula, and our own Chris Rigby receiving an Order of Australia for his work in aged care.

Foundation Day is also an opportunity to acknowledge and thank Catholic Healthcare employees receiving long service awards. This year 493 employees are receiving awards ranging from 5 years to an amazing 40 years!

Long service award employees are receiving certificates, gift-cards and a special year pin. Where possible live and virtual events are being held at Catholic Healthcare Homes and locations.

Congratulations to all employees on reaching a significant service milestone.
