Retirement Living

30 July 2020

Residents of retirement communities are at increased risk of COVID-19 infection and are more vulnerable to serious complications if they do become infected. As there is currently no vaccination to prevent COVID-19, avoidance of exposure is the single most important measure for preventing COVID-19 in any setting. The Department of Health’s advice for people aged 70 years or older or aged 65 years or older with chronic health problems remains unchanged and is to continue to stay at home where possible.

The current advice for the operation of community centres within retirement villages is that they must remain closed. We are therefore unable to reopen the community / common areas until these restrictions are lifted. The following facilities will remain closed until further notice:

  • Hair Salon
  • Cinema
  • Community kitchen

Visiting Reception / Office Areas

Please continue to minimise your visits to the office area. If you have a maintenance request or any enquiries, please call your Village Manager.

If you feel unwell

Any resident who feels unwell should isolate themselves from the community and contact their General Practitioner or call the National Coronavirus Helpline: 1800 020 080. This line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
