Walking with Purpose: A Charles O’Neill Resident Raises Funds for Cancer Research

Walking with Purpose: A Charles O’Neill Resident Raises Funds for Cancer Research

‘Your silent support is the most precious gift you can give. It’s a love that helps me remember who I am, even when I forget.’ Ernest Hemingway

Maintaining a positive outlook comes more naturally when circumstances are favourable. In times of challenge, it is the compassion and selflessness of exceptional individuals that truly stand out.

Charles O’Neill Mayfield resident Graeme is one such person. Even while facing his own cancer journey, he remains committed to supporting others through his participation in the Cancer Council’s The March Charge, raising funds for lifesaving cancer research.

The March Charge involves a fun fitness challenge that has an enormous impact on people affected by cancer, and this year celebrates 10 years since Charging for Change began.

Graeme’s motivation to raise much needed funds for cancer has come from his drive to bring much-attention to the initiative.

‘With so much happening in the world, it’s more important than ever to come together, raise awareness, and generate meaningful support for this vital cause,’ said Graeme.

Graeme has always been fit and active, and he attributes his lifelong love of movement to his four children and three grandchildren.

As part of The March Charge, Graeme has set his own goals to walk each day. ‘Each day, I challenge myself to walk two or three times, staying active and motivate at my own pace,’ he said.

‘My goal is to inspire others to get involved and help make a meaningful impact by contributing to important children’s research

Catholic Healthcare congratulates Graeme on his outstanding efforts. His determination and generosity are not only inspiring, but a powerful example of our values of compassion, courage and integrity in action.

Good luck Graeme.
