Meet Judy, Pastoral Care Coordinator at Maranatha Lodge
Judy has been a part of the local Batehaven community for more than thirty years, and thoroughly enjoys her role as the Pastoral Care Coordinator at Maranatha Lodge.
She has been working at the home for four years.
She fondly remembers when it was first built, and loved being part of the 30th celebrations last November, with over thirty residents and staff attending the special high-tea celebration held at the home.
“At Maranatha Lodge, we are open to people of all faiths and backgrounds and my journey here has been like growing up in a family.
"Pastoral care is not only about religion - it is about being involved in our residents’ lives and promoting living a good spiritual life in a safe community.”
Judy feels very privileged to provide care and support to the residents.
She thrives helping people face challenges in life due to loss, change or other circumstances. During COVID-19 this has been heightened, and Judy has enjoyed being a support to residents and fellow staff.
“I honestly love my job and love coming to work everyday – I enjoy getting to know the residents and interacting with the staff here."
