Meet Amani Eldidi, CSCO for Home & Community Services

At Catholic Healthcare we are shining a 'light' on our staff and the exceptional work they are all doing across our services. We share how team members are innovating, engaging and helping to make Catholic Healthcare a great place to work.

This week, meet Amani Eldidi, Customer Service Centre Officer, Home & Community Services

Although new to the aged care sector having started with Catholic Healthcare just six months ago, Amani has many years of customer service experience honed through senior customer service roles, including a role working at the Australian Taxation Office.

So what makes for excellent customer service?

"Great customer service is all about the quality of care and empathy shown for clients, and being able to really listen to and address their concerns," Amani says.

Amani's daily responsibilities as a Customer Service Centre Officer include taking customer calls and enquiries and directing clients to the right resources. It's a role that involves problem-solving skills and enables Amani to use her key strengths – skills such as empathetic listening, creative thinking and clear communication.

"Catholic Healthcare operates much like a family. Clients are treated with the level of care that you would show to your own mother, or daughter or brother," says Amani.

"Our team also support one another and offer advice when needed. Being new, it has been a steep learning curve, but I have really appreciated the support from my colleagues."

For some people, starting a brand new role can be daunting, however it can also offer a unique opportunity to broaden one's knowledge and skills. This is the case for Amani, who has been eagerly learning all about Catholic Healthcare's services in the last few months.

Amani has had a great impact in her team already, as noted by Susie, Service Delivery Operations Manager.

"Amani is a warm, articulate team member. She is an example of someone we can definitely shine a light on for being a great contributor," says Susie.

So far, Amani is really enjoying learning more about Catholic Healthcare's services and hopes to continue to be able to provide the best level of support to customers as her knowledge increases.

In her spare time, Amani loves to draw and colour-in with her three kids and she also love to travel.
