Our Home & Community Services team are offering a range of new online programs to help keep our clients engaged and healthy
Catholic Healthcare’s new online Smart Technology program for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) clients is already very popular, with the first session held in early October.
The program is catered for seniors and aims to improve their digital confidence and use of technology in small, safe online groups.
The Smart Technology program is run in partnership with Your Link, an organisation dedicated to the digital inclusion of seniors. Your Link runs educational courses and has coached more than 3000 seniors.
The eight-week program is designed to spark curiosity, connectedness and confidence for seniors using smart devices. There are four courses on offer for both Apple and Android devices.
Some practical things participants will learn from the program include:
- How to set up a phone and personalise it.
- How to make the most of basic features such as the camera on your phone.
- What QR codes are and how to use them.
- How to connect with others through video calls.
- Apps, what they are and how to get them.
- The essentials of staying safe online.
