Meet Leo Chen

At Catholic Healthcare we are shining a ‘light’ on our people and the exceptional work they are all doing across our services. We share how team members are innovating, engaging and helping to make Catholic Healthcare a great place to work.

This week, meet Leo Chen, Payroll Services Manager, in the Finance team at Macquarie Park, Sydney.

Leo leads Catholic Healthcare’s Payroll team and is responsible for ensuring all employment-related salary, allowances and other payments are made in accordance with employee agreements.

Leo has a long history with Catholic Healthcare, starting out as a payroll officer 13 years ago. Leo and his team recently moved from being part of Human Resources to now joining the Finance team.

As a seasoned payroll and finance professional, Leo is enjoying leading the Payroll team in the delivery of a reliable, high-quality payroll service.

“As the Payroll Services Manager, I have found that it is imperative to conduct myself in an honest, respectful manner. I naturally strive to deliver excellence in my work and in my standards,” says Leo.

“The Catholic Healthcare Values are crucial in leading a team – ‘compassion’, ‘respect’ and ‘hospitality’ are all relevant. If I demonstrate these qualities at work, then my colleagues will follow suit. That is the best way to lead by example.”

Outside of work, Leo is a bit of a green-thumb and also enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sport.
