Easter fun in our Homes

Residents and staff in all our Aged Care Homes enjoyed a happy Easter this year with lots of craft, social activities, family visits and Easter bunny gifts.

At Lewisham Aged Care, staff dressed up as bunnies and delivered chocolate eggs to residents.

At Villa Maria Unanderra, a friend brought in her pet rabbit to visit the residents. They all enjoyed seeing the bunny and having a pet or hold.

At Coolamon Villa in Mullumbimby, the Home's community organised an Easter egg collection to donate to those less fortunate. A basket of chocolate eggs was given to the town's local community centre to distribute to those going through a hard time.

"During these challenging times our residents, staff and families are always thinking of those in our community who need support," says Nicole Gallagher who works at Coolamon Villa, pictured below left with colleague Ashlee (right) and the donation to the Mullumbimby and District Neighbourhood Centre.

Nicole and Ashlee then dressed up as 'wrascally' rabbits and organised a rabbit hunt. Residents were given loaded Nerf guns to catch the 'rabbits' who had no hope once the residents got together. They were sent away with their cotton tails between their legs and told not to come back until they had lots of hot cross buns and Easter eggs for all.... safe to say there was a lot of laughter.

At Villa Maria Fortitude Valley, everyone got busy with Easter craft plus a generous donation of bunny gifts from the nearby All Hallows' School in Brisbane.

At Maranatha in Batehaven, an Easter egg hunt took place in the sunshine - a good day was had by all.

At George Mockler House in Mona Vale the residents worked on papier mache craft converting them into Easter Bunny baskets.

At St Anne's in Hunters Hill, the Easter bunny paid a visit just when the baby ducklings started hatching bringing joy to residents and staff alike.

And a Jemalong, the team brought colour and fun to the residents in celebration of Easter.
