Care Runs Deep - Meet Mandi Douglas

With the inspiration for Care Runs Deep coming from our dedicated staff, the Home Care team ran a competition, asking staff what Care Runs Deep means to them.

The winner of the competition was Mandi Douglas, Community Worker, Southern Highlands region (pictured below).

Mandi’s winning submission was:

“Care for my clients runs deep because I believe they have, through hard work, contributed to this country, built or bought their own homes, raised families and shaped the society we have today.

For this reason, our clients deserve to be given as much assistance and care to remain in their own homes for as long as possible with respect and dignity. I am blessed to be able to do my small part in aiding our clients each and every day.”

Mandi joined Catholic Healthcare in 2016 working in the Hoarding and Squalor team. She now supports Home Care clients in and around the town of Young where she is based.

“I support our clients in many ways - from doctors’ appointments to shopping and domestic cleaning. I also make sure to ask clients what they need or what they would like me to do for them. I like to deliver a client focused service.

“Spending time with my Nan when I was a young girl, I remember her running errands for older people in town. I was taught to look after our seniors, to respect them and take time to listen to their stories.

“Every day I have the pleasure of assisting clients to remain in their homes, helping them with tasks to make life that bit easier and as comfortable as possible, for as long as possible.”
