The Woolworths team at Lane Cove have gone hopping mad with their generosity this Easter, donating more than 100 chocolate eggs to St Peter’s Aged Care home for the residents’ celebrations on the Easter long weekend.

The team brought six large boxes down to the aged care home on Felton Avenue in Lane Cove last week, containing large milk chocolate egg crates to be enjoyed by each of St Peter’s 93 residents.

The team at St Peter’s, part of not-for-profit aged care provider Catholic Healthcare, were blown away by the unsuspecting donation.

“It’s just so kind of them to do this,” says Dan Brice, Residential Aged Care Manager of the home. “A lot of the residents don’t receive many gifts, so this is just wonderful for them.”

The eggs arrived just in time for St Peter’s Easter Show, a community event run by the St Peter’s team for the enjoyment of residents and locals.

The event was alive with excitement, featuring a kindifarm, a balloon artist and a talented face-painter.
Residents particularly took to the kindifarm, enjoying holding, feeding and petting the three-day-old lambs that came along for the day.

“It’s so great to hold these kind of events for both the residents and the community,” says Dan. “The residents visibly respond to animals and young children – it just makes them feel young again.”
