Plans to redevelop Jemalong
25 Aug 2016
CATHOLIC Healthcare is excited to announce plans to merge two of their long serving Forbes based aged care services – Jemalong Residential Village and Mater Aged Care.
The proposed development of Catholic Healthcare's aged care services in Forbes reinforces Catholic Healthcare's commitment to seniors of the region. The development is planned for construction on the current Jemalong site, Edwards Street in Forbes.
Initial concept designs include a state-of-the-art integrated aged care precinct, containing a new retirement living village, an extension to the existing residential aged care service, chapel, additional health and wellness spaces together with specially designed areas for people living with dementia.
"We thank the Forbes Jemalong Aged People's Association (FJAPA) for their contribution and support of the proposed development," said Catholic Healthcare's Acting General Manager, Residential Care, Matthew Filocamo.
A staged development is planned to ensure continuity of service to current residents and their families, with stage 1 scheduled to open in early 2018.
