Construction commences at McQuoin Park Waitara
25 May 2016
On Wednesday 25th May, Catholic Healthcare celebrated the commencement of construction on a new intergrated aged care development at McQuoin Park, Waitara.
To mark the occasion, a sod-turning ceremony was held at Catholic Healthcare’s McQuoin Park. In attendance was Bishop Peter Comensoli, Hornsby Shire Mayor, Steve Russell and Federal liberal candidate of Berowra, Julian Leeser.
Once completed, McQuoin Park will offer a new integrated development with a state of the art designed residential aged care service, retirement living units, a Health and Wellness Centre, onsite respite and community support services for seniors together with specifically designed dementia areas.
Catholic Healthcare’s Managing Director, David Maher said, “as an organisation that continues to grow and expand our services for seniors, it’s interesting to see the way we find significant ways to reinvent our services to provide for the community as the demand for aged care and retirement living increases.”
This development will offer additional services for seniors of the Upper North Shore.
At the heart of the development is Catholic Healthcare’s determination to build a residential service and retirement living village that are modern and home-like with a café, playground, chapel and a number of communal dinning and lifestyle spaces. Catholic Healthcare’s General Manager of Residential Care Anne Maree Hodgson said, “Catholic Healthcare is looking forward to continuing to offer a high standard of aged care services to the seniors of the region.”
“The private bedrooms with ensuites will be roomy enough for families to gather, plus there will also be lounge and sitting rooms, activities areas and a chapel for communal gatherings. And the retirement village will offer living solutions for seniors who wish to live an active and social lifestyle,” she continued.
This $120 million development project is scheduled for the first stage of completion in mid-2017 with overall completion by 2020.
