Mad Science at Villa Maria

Hero image

This week Villa Maria Eastern Heights residents and staff had some fun and laughs creating science experiments in the Home. A bit different from the lifestyle activities usually on offer.

Diversional Therapists, Jennifer James and Charntel McPhedran, were the brains behind the idea.

“Our experiments included magic milk, lava lamp, walking water and bi-carb balloons,” said Jennifer.

“We decided to run some ‘different’ activities for residents, and get them involved in the science experiments. The residents who participated were very curious about the experiments and were excited with the end results. It created plenty of discussion, lots of laughs and a fabulous time was had by everyone. We are already planning another science day with bigger, better and wackier experiments which can be done outside this time!”

Charntel got into the spirit of the day and dressed up as a mad science professor. Charntel is pictured (left) with Jennifer. In the photo (left) is resident Barbara enjoying the magic milk experiment.
