Jacaranda Festival at St Francis Grafton

St Francis Aged Care Grafton joined in the fun at the recent Grafton Jacaranda Festival, with residents and staff donning purple and getting into the spirit of the yearly event.

Begun in 1934 and held annually ever since, the festival celebrates the spectacular yearly blossoming of the Jacaranda trees that line many Grafton streets.

Catholic Healthcare staff and residents at St Francis have been enjoying the event, with plenty of purple to be seen throughout the Home. A visit from some special guests for afternoon tea and the arrival of two-day old chicks for the residents to hold brightened everyone’s day.

Other celebrations included a full-cooked breakfast, a jacaranda themed quiz for residents, staff wearing purple clothing and even a special batch of purple ice-cream.

The Grafton Jacaranda Festival runs from 26 October to 3 November
