Here’s a quick and easy, healthy and tasty breakfast recipe to kick-start a cold winter’s day.

French Toast provides protein from the egg and milk and can be enjoyed with a portion of fruit.

Ingredients 1 Serve 2 Serve
Egg 1 2
Milk 3 tablespoons 1/4 cup
Cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla Essence 1/4 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon
Wholemeal/wholegrain toast bread 2 slices 4 slices

Method

1.   Crack eggs into a large bowl. Use a fork to whisk in milk, cinnamon and vanilla.

2.   Heat a frying pan over a medium heat. Add oil if required.

3.   Dip each slice of bread into egg mixture until coated on both sides. Place into pan.

4.   Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and bread separates from the pan.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with fresh fruit or fruit compote.
