St Catherine’s Aged Care turns 50

CARING for the local community of Bathurst since 1966. On Monday 31 October, St Catherine's Aged Care in Bathurst paused and celebrated 50 years of care, by hosting a moving and memorable event.

The afternoon of celebrations were attended by staff members, the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of St Joseph, Auxiliary members, volunteers and local town supporters, each who have helped to cement this residential aged care service as a well-respected, longstanding local service.

Awards were presented to long servicing staff members by regional manager Matthew Filocamo, including five years, 10 years, 20 years and 30 years. Catholic Healthcare's managing director David Maher presented a special award to the Auxiliary President, Betty Burke, for her 40 years of dedication, fundraising, support and contribution.

All guests were treated to a delicious spread of freshly made treats prepared on site, by catering manager Renier du Plessis and his staff.

St Catherine's Aged Care will be relocating to a new location on Gorman's Hill Road Bathurst, early in 2017.
