Pathway Through The Maze - Hoarding and Squalor Conference

The fourth National Hoarding and Squalor Conference will take place on June 29-30, 2016 at Rydges World Square, Sydney.

Dr Randy O. Frost, Professor of Psychology and acclaimed author of books including ‘Buried in Treasure’ and ‘Stuff’, is attending from the USA and will run a pre-conference workshop on 28 June 2016. Dr Frost will also be a keynote speaker at the conference.

The purpose of the conference is to highlight the impact of hoarding and squalor on individuals, families and communities and to continue to raise awareness and emphasise the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to hoarding and squalor issues.

The Hoarding and Squalor conference will explore existing service provisions, identify service strengths and weaknesses and develop recommendations for future action. The conference will bring together national and international speakers and delegates from academia, aged care, community services, emergency services, health, mental health, animal welfare, social services, State, Local and Federal Government, community members, service providers, families and individuals with lived experience. The conference will aim to develop a national approach to service response delivery through collaboration and raising the ongoing awareness and education of hoarding and squalor issues.
