Offering 24/7 registered nursing care, all meals prepared daily onsite and a range of recreational activities, our respite program gives carers the confidence that their loved one will receive the care they need, in a supportive home-like environment. Respite Care doesn't mean that you are not doing a good enough job or you no longer care. You might need to a break from caring for your loved one, this is might be you need to have a day surgery, or go on a vacation or there are times when carers need a break to rejuvenate and come back refreshed to continue to care for your loved one.

As a carer you may need a small break or have other commitments that take you away from your carer role for a short period. Or your loved one may need some time to recover after a hospital admission. There is basic daily care fee of $49.42 and this includes residential accommodation in a single or shared room depending availability.

ACAT Assessment

New to respite care?

Depending on your needs, you may be entitled to up to 63 days of residential respite care each financial year. An assessment will be carried out by a member of the Aged Care Assessment Team and they will be able to speak to you about your options and entitlements. This can be arranged through My Aged Care.

Our Customer Relations team will walk you through your options and guide you through the respite admissions process with My Aged Care.

When do I need an  ACAT Assessment?

You will need an ACAT assessment and approval if you have complex aged care needs and want to: access aged care services through any level of Home Care Packages; receive respite care in an aged care home (sometimes known as nursing home); or move into an aged care home.
