Respite support for carers

We understand that carers sometimes need a break from their caring role.

We provide a variety of services and supports for carers who dedicate their time to looking after someone else when carers may need time to themselves or simply need to attend to other matters.

Day respite and overnight respite offers clients the opportunity to attend a day centre or stay overnight in a residential facility or homelike cottage.

Day respite

Day services for when carers need to take some time out.

Day respite offers clients the opportunity to attend a day centre or to enjoy one on one time with a care worker in their home, doing activities they enjoy. And whilst providing respite at home, our carers are able to also provide domestic assistance services as required.

Activities can include but are not limited to:

  • Board games and cards
  • Reading together
  • Watching a movie
  • Chatting
  • Going for a walk
  • Exercise
  • Arts and crafts
  • Outings and bus trips, for example, to a local park, art galleries, shopping centre or swimming pool

Bus trips are usually large group outings and are run regulary. For the schedule, please call the office on 1300 319 011.

Overnight respite

Overnight respite

As well as day respite, clients are able to stay overnight in one of our cottages or in a residential service. This allows the carer to attend events in the evening or go away for a few nights.
