In June 2015 Catholic Healthcare reached agreement with St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) to transfer the ownership and management of Hawkesbury District Health Service (HDHS) at Windsor, NSW, to position the hospital within a large, experienced health care network.
HDHS was a public-private partnership with NSW Health consisting of 125 inpatient beds, emergency department and community health services, operating public patient services under contract to NSW Health, and private patient services.
Catholic Healthcare Chair of Trustee Professor Jack Flanagan said, “After long and careful consideration, the Board of HDHS and the Trustees of Catholic Healthcare felt that with seven years remaining on the current contract it was the appropriate time to position HDHS within a hospital group with wider interests and expertise in hospitals."
Catholic Healthcare promotes life in all its fullness by providing aged, health and community services inspired by the Catholic tradition.
